Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) is facing another brutal round of public shaming after saying that low-income Americans should prioritize paying for healthcare instead of a new iPhone.
Chaffetz appeared on CNN’s “New Day” on Tuesday to discuss the broadly criticized “Trumpcare” proposal being pitched as a replacement for the Affordable Care Act. During his segment, Chaffetz said the following:
“Americans have choices, and they’ve got to make a choice. So rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and want to go spend hundreds of dollars on that, maybe they should invest in their own health care.”
