Bush Was Never a Conservative

Conservatism in its purest form, as I understand it, means a small federal government and keeping government out of people's lives. And yet - that was not President George W. Bush's philosophy. His economic philosophy was always much more akin to Plutocracy - giving unfair political advantage to the wealthy within society, and favoring the wealthy in nearly all events. The only thing "conservative" about Bush's philosophy was his devotion to advancing a religious state - a theory that he inaccurately (I think) attributes to the early government of the U.S.

Now he supports some "liberal" positions because he realizes, too late, that keeping the middle class working is also best for the wealthy. They can't make more wealth if the poor aren't spending.
