Voter Fraud

I guess I'm rally naive - i always thought that the U.S. elections were unbiased and exactly as reported. Recent stories in the news include reports of fixed voting machines, voter registration fraud, irregular voting procedures (such as election officials allowed to take voting machines home with them for several days preceding the vote), tampering with the right of policitcal parties to call their members to get out the vote, and several other stories whose exact suspicions I've lost track of. Sort of sounds like a third-world country, doesn't it?
