President Obama is making an all-out push to win passage of the terrible Trans Pacific Partnership deal in the upcoming lame-duck session of Congress

President Obama is making an all-out push to win passage of the terrible Trans Pacific Partnership deal in the upcoming lame-duck session of Congress -- organizing 30 events over the congressional recess to gin up support for the agreement.

He’s somehow got it into his head that this deal is good for America, and an important part of his “legacy.” In reality, it’s a horrible deal that will make it harder for the U.S. (and every other nation that signs on) to enact health, safety, environment, labor, or investor protections. That's because the deal allows global corporations to go to an independent dispute-settlement authority outside the jurisdiction of any nation, which can order nations to reimburse corporations for any profits lost as a result of these protections.

Obama claims the deal would reduce China’s economic influence in the Pacific, but that’s utter baloney. China's neighbors are already fighting off China's economic dominance, while every global corporation is already vying to get into the lucrative Chinese market.

So what's really driving Obama?

In any event, please write your representatives and senators and tell them you want them to vote against the TPP. This is important.
