Winter is coming.
I read a lot of political stuff and I think there is a lot of truth to the idea that many in the 99% who voted for Trump know (or at least have a sense of) who he is and what he will do. They are hoping for it. They want to see the current system crushed.
The frustration over the inequality in the financial system is not unique to conservatives - the occupy movement of a few years ago, primarily driven by protesters on the left, wanted the big financial institutions held accountable. Today, those on the right want them brought down. You can't argue with the fact that Obama was in the pocket of big business and there is a good chance that Hillary was as well.
Unfortunately, those who will be running the country after January 20, 2017, actually OWN big business.
And there's a good chance Donald Trump could do it.
There's a meme circulating right now, and I suppose that it is accurate, that the last time the Republicans held the House, the Senate and the Presidency was 1928. One year before the great depression. Will we see it again? I think some are hoping for it - or something similar.
P.S. I am not ignoring the part of Trump's support that is backlash to the rapid advance of rights for gays and LGBTQ people - there was plenty of that hate to go around.
But I do think the frustration with the system was a major, driving force.
Hang on folks - this is going to be a bumpy ride.
