Saving the best for last, Fareed Zakaria rips the Republican Party's reckless economic "extortion" and government shutdown for being an undemocratic and un-American embarrassment for our entire political system, especially in the eyes of the world that views us as the supposed "leader of the free world" and "cradle of democracy".

After explaining the importance of acknowledging and legitimizing your own defeat in a democracy once the people have spoken, Zakaria explains the importance of maintaining a standardized legislative process in which a party that wants to amend the law has to go through Congress to do so and not take it upon themselves to defund the law and/or shut down the government in retaliation.
