Disbelief in government

A simple mind can envision a nation of hundreds-of-millions of people without a government. They can't capture the complexity of things that go into managing so many people in so small a space. They believe that the economy will roll on without government intervention - that law and order will prevail without government intervention - that big business will treat everyone fairly and lovingly without government intervention - that the people will defend themselves (singly and collectively) without government intervention. It is, in fact, the ultimate in naivety.
