CNN reports on the religious
A study was done to find out who knows the most about religion; the Bible, religion in our constitution, and other religions. Guess what? The study found that the "believers" are the most ignorant of all - they know as little about their religion as they know about science.
From CNN
Don't know much about religion? You're not alone, study finds
In fact, although the United States is one of the most religious developed countries in the world, most Americans scored 50 percent or less on a quiz measuring knowledge of the Bible, world religions and what the Constitution says about religion in public life.
The survey is full of surprising findings.
For example, it's not evangelicals or Catholics who did best - it's atheists and agnostics.
It's not Bible-belt Southerners who scored highest - they came at the bottom.

CNN - Fox Lite
I've pretty much stopped watching CNN. Too often they accept Republican lies, misinformation and propaganda without challenging any of it, yet it seems they are perfectly willing to go after Democrat's platforms. I'm tired of it.

Elaine Chao Slams Obama's 'Far-Left Agenda' Without Disclosing She's Married to Mitch McConnell. Thanks, CNN!
Love that librul media! On CNN's State of the Union, former Bush Labor Secretary Elaine Chao was busily blasting President Barack Obama's "far-left agenda" and claimed that he had not been as willing to work towards bipartisan solutions as Republican senators.
Oddly enough, CNN host Candy Crowley did not think it worth mentioning to viewers that Chao is married to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Wonder why?

CNN has gone nuts
CNN has lost its edge - posted here is an image of the front page of the Fox News site and the simultaneous front page from CNN. As for me, I'm watching a whole lot more MSNBC these days than CNN. Even Morning Joe is preferable to the crap CNN's American Morning is dishing up.

CNN is going down the tubes
Since I've retired, I've spent quite a bit of time watching news on TV. It's not unusual for me to check on the news 2 or 3 times a day - never for very long, but just to see what the headlines might be. And for the longest time, my station of choice was CNN - I thought their newscasts were balanced and fair - but not anymore.
CNN's interviews are just opportunities for whatever politician they have on to offer up his/her insane views without any challenge whatsoever. The news people are either totally uninformed, unprepared or just unwilling to challenge outright lies and misleading data, and seldom are opposing views given equal time. There must be a market for these talking-heads segments wherein the "experts" that are invited on are allowed to shout at each other, but I, for one, do not like it. I want to see reasoned, fact-based debate.
And I think I'm not alone. The following clip is from Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State...

“In fact viewership of al Jazeera is going up in the United States because it’s real news. You may not agree with it, but you feel like you’re getting real news around the clock instead of a million commercials and, you know, arguments between talking heads and the kind of stuff that we do on our news which, you know, is not particularly informative to us, let alone foreigners,” she added.

The Tone Continues to Be Nasty
A few days ago I posted a message about McCain/Palin's nasty tactics and the fact that it might lead to some radicals on the right attempting to cause harm to either the press or the Democratic candidates. I'm not alone.
Here's a taste of an article posted at CNN...

With recent polls showing Sen. Barack Obama's lead increasing nationwide and in several GOP-leaning states, some Republicans attending McCain-Palin campaign rallies are showing a new emotion: Rage.Updated...
...CNN contributor David Gergen said that the negative tone of these rallies is "incendiary" and could lead to violence.
"There is this free floating sort of whipping around anger that could really lead to some violence. I think we're not far from that," he told CNN's Anderson Cooper on Thursday. "I really worry when we get people -- when you get the kind of rhetoric that you're getting at these rallies now. I think it's really imperative that the candidates try to calm people down."

Winning the War on Terror
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- The Shiite militia run by anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr seized total control of the southern Iraqi city of Amarah on Friday in one of the boldest acts of defiance yet by one of the country's powerful, unofficial armies, witnesses and police said.
