"One thing I perversely enjoy about Trump is the maniacal way he takes a sledgehammer to every single last *Allegedly* conservative virtue:

fidelity, honestly, loyalty, honor, industry, and on and on and on.

Almost without exception, every single immigrant I’ve ever met in my life embodies these values more than Trump.

It was not very long ago that the *entire shtick* of the conservative movement in America was so-called “moral values.” (Remember the "Moral Majority", led by a man who was cheating on his second wife while persecuting a man for... cheating on his wife?) An idea that one political coalition was demonstrably morally superior to the other.

It’s somewhat odd people have memory-holed this period, because the central message, drummed home over and over, was that conservatives were morally superior to liberals.

And not just that! That poor people, people of color, and others deserved their lot *because* they had the kind of character traits... that we now see embodied by the president! (Dishonest, aggressive, unfaithful, LAZY, entitled...)

'Oh these housing project residents are so lazy! So indolent! So emotionally incontinent! So incapable of self-discipline! They must be taught middle class values!'

Save it! Turns out with those exact qualities you can be the most powerful man in the world-- as long as you inherited a fortune from your dad."
