So, imagine this. You go into a local shop. Every one of the dozen or so people in that shop is packing (carrying a gun - concealed or not). One of those people is a little crazy. He/she yells out, "Hands up - this is a hold up." Twelve guns go into the air - no one is quite sure who the bandit is. Shots ring out. Eleven people are dead. Who survived - one of the good guys or the bandit?
People carrying guns around even in the name of self-defense is just plain insane.
