Their own two biggest fans.
.
Ebola landing in New York has created two dictatorial monsters, Chris Christie and Andrew Cuomo. Here's Cuomo:
.
"I disagree with the CDC. And at the end of the day I'm the governor of the state of New York." -@NYGovCuomo
.
"Science be damned! I'm the governor!" All that bluster to cover his backtracking on his quarantine edict for healthcare workers returning from West Africa. Christie, however, wins the award in the contest of who can act like the biggest dick after being embarrassed in front of the nation for overreacting to the return of a healthy healthcare worker, Kaci Hickox, from West Africa.
.
"I didn't reverse my decision,"  Governor Christie said from the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Fla., where he is campaigning for Gov. Rick Scott. "She hadn't had any symptoms for 24 hours. And she tested negative for Ebola. So there was no reason to keep her. The reason she was put into the hospital in the first place was because she was running a high fever and was symptomatic."
(She wasn't running a fever. She was flushed because she was upset and an imprecise forehead scanner showed a fever, while an actual real thermometer registered normal. But let's not let facts get in the way.)
.
Christie absolutely reversed his decision, because his edict was a 21-day mandated quarantine of anyone coming into New Jersey from West Africa. He caved under the onslaught of information from actual public health experts and all the bad press he was getting. But because he doesn't want to admit he caved, he went full-on asshole, refusing to apologize for Hickox's treatment at the hands of the state, and then mansplained, "When she has time to reflect, she'll understand."
.
Not to be outdone, Cuomo made it all about him, "joking" that people under his Ebola quarantine could spend the time reading his new book.
