Deregulation

As the Republicans are anxious to tell you, what we need in this country is more deregulation of business so that the businesses can make more money. After all, regulations cost the corporations money for compliance and increase the cost of doing business. This should lead to all sorts of good things, according to the right-wingers, like more jobs, more profits, etc.


One thing the Republicans never discuss are the downsides. Things like fraud, lost jobs as the wealthy horde even more of their profits taken from the middle class and the poor - and - oh yeah - the potential cost in lives and good health. Pollution (unregulated), global warming, and outright lack of concern for faulty, cheaper (unregulated) products.
