Making Fun of Pres. Bush

There is no better explanation for his behvior than that he IS a moron.

It's quite possible, given his small little brain, that he really believes his own lies.

He could be a clown, but his behavior is certainly not funny.

I think that more and more people are beginning to think like Democratsl. Too bad this man doesn't.

If the Prez could just find an asshole to stick that thumb into, he'd be really happy!

Muslim in Congress

Since Rep. Virgil Goode wrote his racially/religiously bigoted letter to his the folks of his district regarding the election of Muslim Rep-elect Keith Ellison, the story has continued to grow. Two noteworthy blogs (at least) have commented on this.

In Daily Kos, BarbinMD writes about the issue and focuses on the Freedom of Religion clause in the constitution and some comments from Thomas Jefferson. Read it here.

Crooks and Liars did a great story on Rep-elect Keith Ellison's interview on CNN, including a transcript. Read more here.

Iraqis to Self-Govern?

It is the hope of the U.S. administration that Iraqi's will soon be able to govern and tule over their own country so that we can withdraw our troops. This will probably only work when the Iraqi soldiers and police give up their allegance to old customs and local tribes.

Perhaps it ain't gonna happen...

Iraqi soldiers bit the heads off frogs and ate the heart of a rabbit as signs of courage on Wednesday at a ceremony to transfer Najaf province, home to one of Shi'ite Islam's holiest shrines, from U.S. to Iraqi control.

[..]Politicians, tribal and religious leaders and soldiers watched displays of military prowess and one demonstration, hailed as a display of courage, in which five soldiers stopped before the grandstand to bite the heads off frogs.

Video - The Frat Brothers

This is a cute little video and it has a great suprise that first shows up about 2:30 into the song. Wait for it.

Hide the Facts

When the administration of George W. Bush realizes that they are getting beat-up in the press over their position on an issue, what do you suppose they do? What any smart administration would do - they cover up the facts. To wit...

* When an annual report called “Budget Information for States” showed the federal government shortchanging states in the midst of fiscal crises, Bush’s Office of Management and Budget announced it was discontinuing the report, which some said was the only source for comprehensive data on state funding from the federal government.

Read the comprehensive list of cover-ups (at least the one's that are known about) at TPM Muckraker.

Another Religious Scandal

Those who wear their religion on their sleeves often do so to cover their trail as the worst sinners of all.

A church whose former pastor was president of the Southern Baptist Convention has been rocked by allegations of child abuse, PageOneQ has learned.

Pastor Paul Williams, who directs prayer programs and special projects at the Bellevue Baptist Church outside of Memphis, has been forced to take a leave while a church committee investigates charges that Williams sexually molested a family member 17 years ago.

The Bush Stands Alone

The President has gone completely mad. Will congress finally impeach this idiot? We may only be months away...

The debate over sending more U.S. troops to Iraq intensified yesterday as President Bush signaled that he will listen but not necessarily defer to balky military officers, while Gen. John P. Abizaid, his top Middle East commander and a leading skeptic of a so-called surge, announced his retirement.

Jokes

What's the difference between the war in Iraq and the war in Vietnam?

George W. Bush had a plan to get out of Vietnam.

Scuttlebutt in D.C. is that Bill Clinton has already written his presidential memoirs. He's calling it The Johnson Years.

In the News - Surge in Troops

From the Center for American Progress - the Progress Report (12/20/2006)

History Repeats Itself

In 1991, then-Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Colin Powell, a Vietnam veteran, outlined what became known as the "Powell Doctrine": "military action should be used only as a last resort and only if there is a clear risk to national security by the intended target; the force, when used, should be overwhelming and disproportionate to the force used by the enemy; there must be strong support for the campaign by the general public; and there must be a clear exit strategy from the conflict in which the military is engaged." (President Bush reiterated these points in 2000: "Whenever America uses forces in the world, the cause must be just, the goal must be clear and the victory must be overwhelming.") Years later, the military is bogged down in Iraq in what Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) has called "an absolute replay of Vietnam." Public opinion has shifted against the war, and rather than outline an exit strategy, the White House is pushing a plan to "surge" in 15,000 to 30,000 more troops to Iraq -- over the objections of the Joint Chiefs and the vast majority of Americans. Rather than learn the lessons of Vietnam laid out by the Powell Doctrine, Bush is taking his advice from former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who believes the "overriding lesson of Vietnam is to stick it out." At a time when attacks against American and Iraqi targets are at their highest levels, the nation can
ill-afford to follow Kissinger's advice.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran

This guy is wacko and this cartoon says a lot.

Iraq Vs. Vietnam
I love this hat. It looks good on the guy and there's a very real message in those words.

Democrats in Da' House
At least they'll provide some balance to the President's attempt to rule the world.

Silly Laws
Some laws seem to get passed just for the sake of arresting people. The laws against marijuana seem to be just that type. Must be we've got Congress people with friends who build prisons.

No need to guess here - we know how selfish some rich can be. That's how they get rich.

Bush - Man of the People

Another of Bush's malapropisms. It's hard enough to understand what he's talking about when he DOES hit the right words.

Blue Man Poop

The president has turned blue from telling so many lies. I wonder what color comes next as he morphs through the rainbow? Here he's speaking about his plan to improve Social Security by turning all of the money over to his stock market buddies. Did you see the size of the bonuses they'll get this year on Wall Street? He wants to make them 10 times larger.

It's good to be the Prezint's friend.

Bush Voted

President Bush wanted to prove to reporters that he'd voted in the 2006 elections. Unable to find any purple ink in which to dip his finger, he searched for the next best place to dip. Poor Barney. Poor reporters - they had to back up several feet to get away from the smell.
