Just another thought on guns safety.
No matter which side of the political aisle you are on, you know the US is full of idiots. Republicans think Democrats are stupid and Democrats know Republicans are stupid. So, forearmed with that knowledge, why do we not recognize that anyone wishing to buy a gun be trained? We don't let people drive without written tests and without some driver training. Why is it so unreasonable to require new gun owners to go through some simple testing and training?
The fact that we don't require basic training leads to incidents reported in GUNFAIL and incidents like this...

Gun s are dangerous
Even in the hands of those professionally trained to handle firearms, there are STILL significant dangers. Allowing untrained people to trade in guns is all the more dangerous.

Gun ownership - who are these people?
When you consider that tens of millions of Americans own guns, many of them purchased without a required background check, or required training, we have to assume that there are a fair share of idiots that own these killing machines. People with little sense of the danger of their weapons, and people with virtually no knowledge of how to store, care for and operate their new little friends. It scares the shit out of me.

Gun control
Really, wouldn't it be nice of gun owners were required to take some training classes and be licensed? I'd feel a little better about it.
