Republican hypocrisy on the economy
Republicans are acting all noble now over their position on the debt and the deficit. They pretend, as if no one can remember the recent past, that they have always been the party of restraint and frugality when it comes to spending money. They want voters to believe that their only real concern, other than controlling women, is to reduce your taxes for you - to make you wealthy and happy by making you pay all of their friends in the private sector for things the government is doing for you now. Things like health insurance (medicare and medicaid) and school for your children.
But in reality, it is all a charade. What they really want is to give more of your money to their pals. If they weren't lying to you, if they really were your friend in providing for a debt free government with low taxes, why did they take a deficit-free budget and equitable tax rates and run the deficit through the roof while giving bigger tax breaks to corporations and the rich? What do they think we are, stupid?
And to answer my own question - yes.

Republicans don't want to hear it.
It would almost be fun to give the Presidency and control of both houses of Congress back to the Republicans. Do you think that, for even one little minute, that they would trash our current economy? Wouldn't happen - they wouldn't cut HALF the shit they are screaming about right now - they'd never get re-elected, and they know it. It was under George W Bush (R), they a whole new aspect of Medicare - Part D - was passed and rolled out to provide coverage for medicines - without a single thought being given to how it would be paid for.
The only reason the Republicans are screaming about the debt and the deficit is that a black Democrat is in the President's office and that is what is driving them to levels of insanity.

It's all "W's" fault
It can't be said often enough - the huge debt and growing deficit really aren't Obama's fault - George W Bush was responsible for the debt and the decline in the American economy and Obama has had to maintain to avoid throwing us into a depression.

Republican logic...
Republicans have had a hard time justifying their intense dislike for Barack Obama, so they make shit up - like the excessive number of vacation days he has taken and the amount of time he spends playing golf.

When you think Obama may not be doing the job you want, just remember this...
President George W. Bush has made unprecedented claims of executive power. He has asserted, for example, that the president may imprison foreign nationals and American citizens without judicial process and may hold such persons incommunicado. In rejecting these claims in 2004, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor wrote for the Supreme Court, "History and common sense teach us that an unchecked system of detention carries the potential to become a means for oppression.

Oh yeah - I forgot that this happened
"The president does not know him, nor does the president recall ever meeting him."
-White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan, about Jack Abramoff, the high-powered lobbyist who touched off the largest Republican bribery scandal in the history of Congress.
Time magazine soon produced five photographs of Abramoff and his clients meeting the president on different occasions. Abramoff helped raise more than $100,000 for Bush's 2004 re-election campaign. He is now serving six years in prison and is cooperating with the FBI investigations of members of Congress and the Bush administration.
