Rush Limbaugh Has Balls Of Steele
Lapdog of the Right. A ha ha ha, we had to do a Google search to make sure nobody had put that crack in a headline yet. So anyway yes, Michael Steele spoke ill of Rush Limbaugh on late-night television, and then Rush Limbaugh said mean things about Michael Steele on the radio, and then Steele had to apologize because Rush Limbaugh makes a gazillion dollars a year putting cigars in his face and pontificating on the radio whereas Michael Steele is just some loser from Maryland.

Never Underestimate Our Stupidity
"Confusion reigned in Bexar (that’s pronounced “bear”) County yesterday, as thousands of dullards swamped the elections department with phone calls asking where they could vote on Tuesday. The answer: Nowhere! The Texas primary isn’t till March .
Jacque Callanen, the Bexar County elections commissioner, offered up this explanation: “It’s all over the national media and the local media that there’s a big election.”
The rampant plague of idiocy extends northward all the way to Washington State, where glassy-eyed Walla Walla voters are staggering around wondering when they, too, will be able to tick the ticky. The answer: February 19 . "

Torture Bush
From Wonkette and The Washington Post Blog.
Writing on the Washington Post’s blog thing this weekend, columnist Eugene Robinson came up with a reportedly good way to determine if the various “we don’t torture” torture methods should really be considered torture by American courts: Torture Bush & Alberto! But only with the approved non-torture torture methods.
If we haven’t actually put anybody on the rack or pulled out his fingernails, we haven’t committed torture.
If that’s true, then shouldn’t the administration officials — starting with the president himself — who authorized these techniques be willing to experience them first-hand? Until George W. Bush can say, “Hey, I’ve been waterboarded, and it wasn’t so bad,” or Alberto Gonzales can say, “To tell the truth, spending those three days naked in a freezing-cold cell wasn’t painful or anything,” then I’ll continue to believe that history will condemn this administration for a shocking lapse of moral judgment. Bush will be remembered as the president who tried to justify torture.

Wonkette Has Great News Reports
This is as awesome as news gets: Pat Buchanan is going to run for the Senate from Virginia. Maybe. If there is a god. This dude reports today that Pat’s “being discussed as a possible candidate,” and unlike other GOP hopefuls Tom Davis and Jim Gilmore, Pat is a total fucking nutjob who says any crazy thing that pops into his head, regardless of whether it leads to people accusing him of hating, say, black people or Jews (just like his old boss, Richard “Greatest American Hero” Nixon).
Pat hasn’t really been taken seriously by anyone in 11 years but he’s kept sort of in the public eye, occasionally putting out books about how he hates Bush and appearing on Fox News to shout nonsense at Rachel Sklar, have Vietnam flashbacks, and accuse Nancy Pelosi of being a pedophile.

Wonkette - Another Republican Hypocrite
Nobody is mourning the suicide of St. Petersburg City Council Chairman John Bryan — “a staunch Republican and former finance chairman for U.S. Sen. Connie Mack” — who sucked a tailpipe Friday afternoon after the story broke that he had sexually molested his adopted daughters and another little girl.

Wonkette on Fred Thompson
Exactly four local losers showed up at a Salt Lake City GOP party to celebrate Hollywood Fred Thompson’s webcam announcement that he’s running for president yesterday — and there were snacks set up for so many more “Fredheads.”
One of the people said “While he was in the Senate, I liked his stance on the war.” Thompson left the Senate in January 2003, before the war.
Maybe the guy was talking about Afghanistan? Vietnam?
Three of the four people noted how much they loved Fred for his Christian/Conservative family values.
“People should look and see if his values match theirs,” said Thompson fan Grant Lynn. “If it feels right, they should support him.”
Fred Thompson abandoned his first wife for a blonde half his age, lost his daughter to a drug overdose, got rich helping abort fetuses and left politics to perform on a violent-crime show on teevee.

The following is from Wonkette's Blog a couple of days ago. Some pretty funny quotes in here...
A weird new survey proves that most Americans are confused dingbats and that just over half of the nation is Under God, which is going to really screw up Rove’s Christian Base next week, because not even Christians are convinced this whole God thing is for real.
Despite being a “Christian Nation” or whatever, 42% either don’t believe in God or aren’t sure God exists. And now, the hilarious contradictions: "Only 76% of Protestants, 64% of Catholics, and 30% of Jews said they are “absolutely certain” there is a God. However, most Christians who described themselves as “born-again” (93%) said they are absolutely certain there is a God."
This is incredible: 7% of America’s notorious Born-Again Jesus Freaks aren’t sure if their God, er, exists. Are these people part of the 15% of Americans who don’t know who’s president yet still somehow manage to both maintain telephone service and answer when it rings?
The only good news in the Harris Poll is that people under 40 are much less likely to believe in the whole Christian God thing at all. Then again, Americans under 40 probably didn’t understand the question.
