Arizona Sen. John McCain, "patriot," promises that if the Republicans keep their Senate majority, there won't be any Supreme Court confirmations for President Hillary Clinton.
McCain promised that Republicans would be "united against any Supreme Court nominee" put forth by Clinton.
"I promise you that we will be united against any Supreme Court nominee that Hillary Clinton, if she were president, would put up," McCain said. "I promise you. This is where we need the majority and Pat Toomey is probably as articulate and effective on the floor of the Senate as anyone I have encountered."
Note that there could be as many as three additional vacancies—including the one they're currently refusing to fill—during Clinton's first term. Will the Senate Republicans continue to block any Clinton nominee when there are only five sitting justices? Yes. That is exactly what McCain is promising, and there's little doubt, based on the past eight years of Republican obstruction, that they'll happily do it.
Four things: First, it's good Hillary is expanding her map into Arizona. Kick his ass, Hillary. Politically speaking.
Second, Ann Kirkpatrick needs to retire him.
Third, Democrats have to take back the Senate.
Fourth, after they take back the Senate, new Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has to end the filibuster.
