April 18 is a worldwide prayer day. God made a big mistake when he made Trig Palin, and if enough people pray to him, God will fix his mistake: Pray 4 Trig.
Q: Why Trig Palin?
A: Trig Palin is well known in the media; people all over the world know just who he is, and they already care about him. It will be much easier for them to sincerely pray for someone they care for, instead of what to them is a random name.
Also, it is known publicly that Trig Palin indeed has Down Syndrome. Science has no way to undo this condition, which is the result of an extra chromosome; but God can. When Trig Palin is found to be miraculously healed, everyone but the most hardened atheist will have to acknowledge God's Majesty!

Hating Haiti
Once again, thanks to the J-Walk Blog for this post.
Albert Mohler is head of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he even has a radio show. He asks, Does God Hate Haiti?
Does God hate Haiti? That is the conclusion reached by many, who point to the earthquake as a sign of God's direct and observable judgment.
God does judge the nations -- all of them -- and God will judge the nations. His judgment is perfect and his justice is sure. He rules over all the nations and his sovereign will is demonstrated in the rising and falling of nations and empires and peoples. Every molecule of matter obeys his command, and the earthquakes reveal his reign -- as do the tides of relief and assistance flowing into Haiti right now.
A faithful Christian cannot accept the claim that God is a bystander in world events. The Bible clearly claims the sovereign rule of God over all his creation, all of the time. We have no right to claim that God was surprised by the earthquake in Haiti, or to allow that God could not have prevented it from happening.
He concludes:
Good ole Christian-style babble. They can pretty much conclude anything they want. The more nonsense they spew, the more followers they get.In other words, the earthquake reminds us that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only real message of hope. The cross of Christ declares that Jesus loves Haiti -- and the Haitian people are the objects of his love.

Don't You Believe That Being Christian Means Being Honest Or Being Moral
Ninth Commandment news: Family Research Council: Obama plans to impose homosexuality'.
Christian fundamentalist group Family Research Council has a clever idea for raising money: convince supporters that President Barack Obama will take away their Bibles and turn their kids gay.
That's essentially what the group's newest fundraising alert amounts to, with its claim that the president has a "plan" to "impose homosexuality" and "silence Christianity."
The group's four-page letter, available here [PDF link] courtesy of Think Progress, reads like end-of-days fiction, with Godless liberals on the march and only your dollars keeping America from the fires of hell.

Vocal Conservative Bails On Republican Party
Charles Johnson, who runs a very popular conservative blog called Little Green Footballs, has bailed out: Why I Parted Ways With The Right.
Support for fascists, both in America (see: Pat Buchanan, Robert Stacy McCain, etc.) and in Europe (see: Vlaams Belang, BNP, SIOE, Pat Buchanan, etc.)
- Support for bigotry, hatred, and white supremacism (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, Lew Rockwell, etc.)
- Support for throwing women back into the Dark Ages, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)
- Support for anti-science bad craziness (see: creationism, climate change denialism, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, James Inhofe, etc.)
- Support for homophobic bigotry (see: Sarah Palin, Dobson, the entire religious right, etc.)
- Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)
- Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)
- A right-wing blogosphere that is almost universally dominated by raging hate speech (see: Hot Air, Free Republic, Ace of Spades, etc.)
- Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.)
- Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source)
And much, much more. The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff.
I won't be going over the cliff with them.
He forgot to mention Pat Boone and Dr. Orly Taitz, Esquire. But other than that, it's a good post.

We Have Insane Drug Laws In The U.S.
FBI figures: One drug bust in US every 18 seconds.
America is a nation at war, overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan, and at home.
According to the newly released Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Report for 2008 every 18 seconds someone is arrested and charged with violating drug laws.
Another striking figure in the report: of the 1,702,537 drug arrests in 2008, 82.3 percent were for simple possession of a contraband substance. Nearly half, 44 percent, were for possession of marijuana.
According to San Francisco Weekly's calculations, 2008 saw one marijuana arrest every 37 seconds.
The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) said 2008 had the second-highest number of marijuana arrests the U.S. has ever seen. The group said that 2007 currently holds the record.
How much money could be saved by not punishing victimless crimes? I'm sure the numbers have been run. So why are we wasting so much money and effort? Even Mexico has figured out that it's not worth it.

Bush-Cheney Loyalists
President isn't in office and no longer provides a center for their interests. What makes this post so funny, at least for those of us who were not fans of Bush 43, is this partial list of document links that John found...By the way, you can click on the blog link above to read John's entire post.

Holy Smokes!
Holy Sand
At only $29.95, this seems like a steal: Sand of Christ.
From the FAQ:
What exactly is Sand of Christ?
Sand of Christ is a keepsake that has been blessed and made holy by an ordained minister. It is a vial of sand that has been filtered, cleaned and purified, then anointed and blessed through a long and expensive process. The vial is secured in a waterproof metal capsule that has been highly polished by hand. Each one has the cross laser engraved.

Conservapedia On Barack Obama
This clip is actually from the J-Walk Blog wherein John posts some clips from the Conservapedia (The conservatives' version of Wikipedia) which reproduces lies and half-truths about Barack as if it were an encyclopedia entry. Just goes to show you - conservatives are not only stupid, they are spiteful people. It must be an interesting view of the world to have a mind so warped.
A few excerpts:
Obama is the first person having ties to a known former terrorist to gain control over America's nuclear weapons.
Doctors from the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons have stated that Obama uses techniques of mind control in his speeches and campaign symbols.
Obama will likely be the first Muslim President
Obama has consistently shown himself to be an elitist who looks down on "ordinary" Americans.
