Sometimes it seems like maybe you've moved past stupid in this world - you see something like Hillary's win in the New Hampshire primary (has a woman ever won a Presidential primary in this country before?) and believe we've moved to a higher level of discourse in the nation. Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign stop was interrupted Monday when two men stood in the crowd and began screaming, "Iron my shirt!" during one of her final appearances before the New Hampshire primary.

Clinton, a former first lady running to become the nation's first female president, laughed at the seemingly sexist protest that suggested a woman's place is doing the laundry and not running the country.

Science Needs To Be Elevated

I post the following mostly because of how the commentary is such a sad statement about the Bush Administration. How have we come to this?

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday she would sign an executive order rescinding President Bush's restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.

The presidential candidate also said she would bar political appointees from altering or removing scientific conclusions from government research without a legitimate reason for doing so.

"The Bush administration has declared war on science," the New York senator said. "When I am president, scientific integrity will not be the exception it will be the rule."

Did You Know - Hillary Clinton

I've talked about this issue since shortly after I started this blog. It's a little stated fact that President Bush has intended, from the get-go, to maintain a permanent military force in Iraq as a staging ground for U.S. forces as a part of a strategic defense. This will anger Muslims for generations to come. Now Hillary weighs in on the matter, and for me, she's no longer a Presidential candidate I can support.

WASHINGTON, March 14 — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton foresees a “remaining military as well as political mission” in Iraq , and says that if elected president, she would keep a reduced but significant military force there to fight Al Qaeda , deter Iranian aggression, protect the Kurds and possibly support the Iraqi military.
