Who serves who?

There's an interesting question sitting out there that sort of defines the fiscal conservative and the liberal: Are people put on earth to serve corporations, or were corporations invented to serve people? Should people or corporations pay the bulk of the taxes that fund our governments? Seems to me that of late, we have it backwards.
