Carl Sagan - A Thousand Years of Darkness
The video below is longer than most that I post - the running time is close to 10 minutes.
We are not at the first point in history when religion has tried to stifle the advances of science. In this video Carl Sagan discusses the lead-up to the Dark Ages. It goes unsaid that we could be on the verge of another historical period where religious superstition could hold back important advances in our safety (global warming) and health (stem cell research). Is this really where we want to go?
