Conservatives - bad apples all around.
A week or so ago I read that ACORN had filed a lawsuit against the two conservatives who secretly recorded a meeting while posing as a pimp and a prostitute in order to defame and de-legitimatize ACORN. Seems it is against Federal law to film or tape someone without their permission.
Now the clown of a conservative who masterminded that job has been arrested while trying to bug the phones of a U.S. Senator. This guy was probably born a loser.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A conservative activist who posed as a pimp to target the community-organizing group ACORN and the son of a federal prosecutor were among four men arrested and accused of trying to tamper with phones at Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu's office.Activist James O'Keefe, 25, recorded two of the other suspects with his cell phone as they walked into the office dressed like telephone repairman and said they needed to fix problems with the phone system, according to an FBI affidavit.

Is this a surprise?
Republicans and right-wing zealots lie and cheat all of the time, so is it any surprise to learn the the recent videos of Acorn workers lending support to a "teen-age prostitute" and her pimp were doctored? Released so as to discredit Acorn, the videos were clearly not what they presented themselves as, according to an independent investigation.

ACORN employees caught in those undercover videos advising a couple posing as a pimp and a prostitute on how to break the law acted unprofessionally and inappropriately, but did nothing illegal, an independent report has found.
The report, by former Massachusetts Attorney General Scott Harshbarger, recommends nine steps for ACORN to take in order to regain public trust in the wake of the scandal, including that it return to its "core competency - community organizing and citizen engagement empowerment, with related services."

The videos that have been released appear to have been edited, in some cases substantially, including the insertion of a substitute voiceover for significant portions of Mr. O'Keefe's and Ms. Giles's comments, which makes it difficult to determine the questions to which ACORN employees are responding. A comparison of the publicly available transcripts to the released videos confirms that large portions of the original video have been omitted from the released versions.
