“Reich” is German for realm, kingdom, empire. The First Reich was the Holy Roman Empire based in Germany after the fall of Rome. The Second Reich was the German Empire of the Kaiser that collapsed at the end of World War 1. The infamous Third Reich was built by Hitler and his Nazis during the 1930’s to the end of World War 2.
Neo-Nazi’s have been clamoring for a Fourth Reich in Germany and an American Reich here. They want a Nazi Reich like Hitler built. This is a big deal amongst NeoNazi’s, white supremacists, Aryan National types, etc.
This is a loud and clear bullhorn message to the far right-wing lunatic fringe that comprises a good sized chunk of MAGA. This isn’t the first time Trump and his base have referenced or quoted Hitler and Nazi Germany. The so called Mom’s for Liberty uses direct attributed Hitler quotes in their literature.
This should be a major international news story and Trump should be made into a pariah but that isn’t happening. Trump and his sycophants have normalized fascism and Nazi ideals and injected them into the body politic. Trump cultists have embraced this and it is scary.
The Trump campaign blamed this on a random staffer but only Trump and his Social Media assistant Dan Scavino have the ability to post under the Trump name. This was no mistake. Trump also called for a 3rd term which is forbidden under the Constitution.
