Senate starts Russia investigation—by probing Obama administration response?

That special investigation of Russian interference in our election Sens. John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) were demanding? Not going to happen. They've already caved on that, agreeing with leader Mitch McConnell that the regular Senate committees can handle it. Well, here's how the existing committees are going to handle it: by investigating the Obama administration's response to the hacking. Yes, you read that right. Not the actual Russian hacking, but the Obama administration. Perfect.

Victoria Nuland, an assistant secretary of State, Gentry Smith, the director of the State Department's foreign missions office, and Danny Toler, a deputy assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security will brief lawmakers, according to a notice from the committee.

Well, that's some place to start, but maybe not the most helpful place to start. McCain, Graham? Any comment?
