So, how do we stop the shootings?

The way I see it, there are two ways to reduce the number of people being shot in the U.S.

First, there is the NRA way - everyone carries a gun - maybe we even have the government issue a gun to every newborn in the country. Then, the good guys shoot all the bad guys. Except - that only leads to MORE shootings, not less.

Second, we could reduce the number of guns in circulation - especially handguns and assault rifles - and with fewer guns there should be fewer shootings.

You tell me which is more logical.
