Focusing on the gun nuts

A news update on Jamie Gilt, Gun Nut Nation's Cover Girl Mom of the Year. Gilt, you may remember, is the Teds Cruz-supporting responsible gun owner who left a loaded gun on the back seat of her pickup that her child, roaming freely and not in a car seat, picked up and fired, shooting Gilt through back and out her abdomen

Gilt, who survived her injuries and did not lose custody of either her child or her guns, ran a gun nut Facebook page where she posted photos of guns--known in the gun nut vernacular as "gun porn"--along with photos of herself and her kid with guns, as well as anti-government and 2nd Amendment-loving memes in that paradoxical way that gun nuts do.

Right. Just a refresher course.

Well, it turns out that Gun Nut Nation's Cover Girl Mom of the Year was arrested in 2013 for trying to shoplift $455 worth of clothing by smuggling it in kid's stroller.

Ordinarily, we wouldn't post a story like this, because, frankly, it just feels like a mean-spirited, gratuitous pile-on of mockery and easy-picking schadenfreude.

...Then again, we've been getting trolled lately because of our initial posting of the story, which was apparently shared by a gun nut page with indignation and "see here now" outrage at our out-of- control, venomous "hatred" in making the fairly benign, obvious, uncontroversial observation that Gilt is a fucking idiot.

So we're posting this.

Frankly, we're sick to death of gun nuts who try to justify their pathetic gun product consumerism by claiming disingenuously that they do it "to protect their families." Gun nuts could give a fuck about their kids or their families. They blather pompously about how responsible they are and how they need guns to be poorly regulated so that they want to defend their family (as though one thing is related to the other), and then they endlessly leave their loaded, unsecured guns in the grasp of their unsecured kids, who more often than not shoot someone--another kid or a family member or maybe themselves--in an "accident," scarring that child for life.

So fuck you, gun nuts. And fuck this shoplifting, idiot-cum-child-exploiting moron.
