Just hours after the hashtag #FireElizabethLauten trended on Twitter, Lauten is "resigning." In other words, she lost her job.

Finally a Republican is called to task for their nasty attacks on the Obama girls. GOP staffer and former RNC media director Elizabeth Lauten, told NBC News via a phone interview Monday morning that her resignation was "in the works."
