Our justice system is broken, Police officers are human beings and they come with all sorts of prejudices and preconceived ideas when they are hired. Some do an incredibly good job despite difficult circumstances. But when one is charged with, or suspected of a crime, there should be a trial. They are not above the law.

The courts dismiss people in authority far too quickly. A human life is important no matter whose it is and we should demand accountability - public accountability - from police and the courts so that we can be sure that the system is serving us.

The justice system let us down with this guy that just shot and killed two innocent police officers in New York City. He had been in and out of trouble dozens of times, yet the courts let him walk and our laws allowed him to get his hands on a gun.

We need to revamp our system of laws and court proceedings and we need it now.
