Senate Republicans have plans to prove that they can govern. Really.

.
Giddy at the thought of retaking the Senate this November, Republicans are planning their 2015 agenda to "show they can govern." And realizing that they need to find "something we can say yes to," they are going to "at least move the ball down the field," all while being "mindful of the potential vulnerability of their senators up for re-election in 2016." What this all boils down to is balancing the budget via "painful, politically unpopular choices" (aka: gutting social programs and increasing Pentagon spending), "sweeping changes on taxes" (presumably tax cuts for businesses and the rich), passing token immigration "reform," and of course approving the Keystone XL pipeline. (Are you excited yet?)
.
But first, to prove that they really, really, really can govern:
.
... Republicans also say they are likely to take an early symbolic vote on repeal of the health care law, which would face a certain veto by Mr. Obama.
.
Because nothing says "we're serious about governing" more than that.
