CBO Drops Reality Bomb On Republicans: Repealing Obamacare Will Add $353 Billion to the Deficit

.
The Congressional Budget Office released a report Friday that showed America just what deficit hawks who have no healthcare reform plan of their own Republicans really are.
.
Republicans want to repeal your healthcare so they can add $353 billion over the next ten years to the deficit. It is projected to add $3 trillion to the deficit in the ten years after that. Yes, $3 trillion.
.
The Republican horror show doesn’t end there. Over the next ten years, 24 million people would lose their health insurance. About 19 million people would lose insurance next year alone, according to the CBO.
.
“The CBO is projecting that repealing the Affordable Care Act will add more than $350 billion to the deficit in the next ten years, and add a staggering $3 trillion to the deficit in the ten years after that.” Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said in a statement. “Even under Republicans’ highly controversial ‘dynamic’ scoring math, the CBO finds that repeal will explode the deficit by more than $100 billion – not counting the increased health care costs from erasing the Affordable Care Act’s emphasis on prevention.”

Thank You Pope Francis

Thank You Pope Francis
.
Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church, today called for swift action on climate change in a much-anticipated papal encyclical. The sweeping encyclical, which is one of the strongest statements the Catholic Church can make, specifically acknowledges humanity’s role in warming the planet and urges Catholics worldwide to help slow the effects of climate change and protect God’s creation.
.
Francis called on industrial nations to take action, saying it is the world’s poorest who will be most hurt by the impacts. “Climate change is a global problem with grave implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods,” he wrote. “It represents one of the principal challenges facing humanity in our day.”

.
In the 192-page encyclical, Francis suggests a new partnership between science and the church to combat climate change – a position which brings him directly in conflict with those who have questioned or denied the science. He criticizes the skeptics for their “denial,” a move that could put pressure on Catholic candidates who are seeking the Republican nomination for president. Jeb Bush, who converted to Catholicism 20 years ago, all but dismissed the Pope, arguing that religion “ought to be about making us better as people and less about things that end up getting into the political realm.” This stands in stark contrast to just last month when he remarked that “Christians see in nature and all God’s creatures designs grander than any of man’s own devising, the endless glorious work of the Lord of Life. Men and women of your generation are striving to be protectors of Creation, instead of just users.”
.
Pope Francis has said he hopes the encyclical will help push people to pressure politicians for change.
.
BOTTOM LINE: The Pope’s encyclical is the intersection of science and faith, a global call to take action on climate change. That so many conservatives continue to deny its existence is not an excuse for America to be idle while the impacts of climate change devastate communities and hurt public health. We have a moral obligation to act.

Evangelist Raising Money to Give Bibles to Starving, Homeless Iraqi Refugees
There is something much more significant about this than it's uselessness. Among the reasons the Koran gives for beheading infidels is proselytizing among the faithful by non-Muslims. I say let them go and personally hand out the Bibles.
June 17, 2015 by Hemant Mehta.
As Daesh/ISIS has taken over parts of Iraq, they’ve displaced a lot of citizens along the way. One estimate says that more than 100,000 people have left the capital of Ramadi alone to avoid the terrorist takeover.
.
It’s a problem that really bothers Christian evangelist and Repent America director Michael Marcavage:
.
Perhaps you’ve wondered how you can help make a difference in Iraq for such a dark time as this. How can you care for the oppressed and hurting? Most importantly, how can you make an eternal difference in the lives of the Iraqi people?.
Yes, Michael, how can we help?!
.
Give us the answer!
.
Our project, Bibles for Iraq, will focus on bringing the Scriptures to as many refugees as possible___.
— many of whom cannot read or write and have NEVER had access as much as they do now. In America, Bibles are easily accessible, but not so much in Iraq, and especially not when you live as a refugee. And as most refugees are illiterate, imagine the compounded difficulty in ever being able to receive the Scriptures.
.
The last thing people these people need is a Bible. They are struggling to survive. They need shelter.
.
Replacing their religion with another kind of fiction won’t do anything to improve their situation.
(Unless Marcavage is giving them paper to make fire with, in which case I guess he’s doing them a favor… but that’s clearly not what he has in mind.)
.
But leave it to Marcavage to solve the real problem here: illiteracy.
.
… we have an opportunity to purchase special solar-powered audio Bible devices that can reach illiterate Iraqis by bringing the people the Scriptures at the touch of a button. These audio Bibles will be uploaded with both the Old and New Testaments, programmed for dual languages — Arabic and Kurdish — and will provide many Iraqis who may never otherwise hear the gospel the opportunity to receive the power of God unto salvation..
Oh good. I was worried for a while that the Bibles might be useless.
.
Amazingly, Marcavage has raised more than $15,000 toward his goal of $30,000… all for items that will help nobody.
.
There’s a group called Action Against Hunger [given top ratings by charitable watchdogs] that’s providing these refugees with food and water. In other words, things to help the refugees in this life instead of the next one. If you’re looking to make a donation, consider giving to them
