Taken a bit out of context. The first in regard to deformity related only to serving as a priest. Since everything they did was to provide imagery they had to be physically perfect--symbolic. Just as today most employers want someone to be pleasant looking when they are in the public eye--I'm thinking news anchors.
ReplyDeleteSecond picture yes shockingly God didn't allow a priests daughter to become a prostitute. This is a protection for her against the forced prostitution practiced in pagan religions. This sentence was never carried out to anyone's knowledge.
Third picture slavery--study the how strangers/sojourners were to be treated according to Leviticus. It is extraordinarily enlightened. While a complex issue this reference is clearly only pertaining to the pagan countries they fought in battle. They were to be prisoners of war permanently. ReplyDeleteRhonda, I'm not sure what you mean. If you ask if I believe that the God of the Bible is not a loving and forgiving God as many Christians would portray him, yes - that is what I believe. But the point is moot - there is no god.
